Where Can I Serve?

Members of FCC serve the church, the community, and the world in a variety of ways.  Here you will find some information about some opportunities.  We hope you will find a ministry that speaks to your gifts and interests.

Missions/Outreach

Mission/Outreach is responsible for involving the congregation in service to local communities; such as, cooperating with local social service agencies, administering the congregation’s benevolent and outreach funds, offering seasonal assistance to the needy, informing the congregation about current social issues, Josiah White’s Family Services, Wheeler Mission and Horizon House Homeless Shelters, the Ronald McDonald House of Indianapolis, Exodus Refugee, Central Indiana CROP Hunger Walk, Feeding Team, local food pantries, Good Samaritan of Hamilton County, Kentucky Cornerstone Mission, and Second Helpings

First Christian Church proudly supports the members of our church community as well as the surrounding community. If you would like to donate to our Mission/Outreach Programs please do so by the link by hovering and clicking over the link below.

Musical Worship

We strive to have a service that honors God in both the word and in our music.  We have several members of the church that make up our wonderful choir, as well as, a few world class musicians that bring their mastery of music to our special services.  The Joyful Ringers Ensemble includes people of all ages that make up our hand bell choir.

Ushers

The usher team at our church fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, ensuring the safety of the building during services, valet parking anyone who needs or wishes it, helping visitors, answering questions, providing direction, and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to our weekly worship.

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of this church. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All of our weekly sermons are uploaded to our website in video and audio formats. We also maintain an active Facebook feed for additional church communication.  Although we are a traditional church, we incorporate video and media into our worship services to help further promote our message.

Children's Church & Nursery

At FCC we realize that parents and children respond to worship in different ways.  During the regular worship service, the children are invited to go to children’s church where they are taught about the Christian faith in a fun and interactive style.  We also have a nursery program for any younger children and babies staffed by our trained staff and volunteers for parents wishing to attend the service.

FCC Youth Group

Our youth group that meets on Sunday evenings at the church.  We strive to provide a place for youth to belong to that promotes a healthy Christian atmosphere.  The youth participate in music, worship, recreation.

Hospitality/Membership

The Hospitality/membership was created to insure that all visitors to the church, new and existing, feel welcome every Sunday.  The Hospitality committee also hosts several church events such as our community Easter Egg Hunt, Parent’s Night Out, Trunk or Treat, and movie nights.  If you are a person who is outgoing and energetics then the hospitality committee would be a great fit for you!

How Do I Meet People?

There are a variety of ways to get involved in the life and ministry of FCC.  There are opportunities for small groups, Bible studies, service and volunteer opportunities.  Contact us if you have questions about ways to get involved.

Small Groups

Our small groups cover a wide range of ages and topics.  We have small groups for the younger members of the church all the way up to the senior members.  These include our weekly bible studies, hikes, golf outings, knitting, and many more.

Christian Women's Fellowship

Women’s groups give the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, located in several locations throughout our community, are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church.

Christian Men's Fellowship

The Christian Men’s Fellowship is a group for all men to get together to worship and provide varying acts of service.
